The customer suggested the piano rondo “Rage Over a Lost Penny” by Ludwig von Beethoven as an aesthetic starting point. The solution was to achieve something international, stable, serious, innovative and accessible. The challenge was to reinterpret this reference for a contemporary audience, without straying too far from the general aural impressions of a classical work.

The leitmotif is carried by the piano, which because of its frequency spectrum on all playback media, achieves an equal presence in its interplay with the oboe. For the sound logo, we also produced an alternative to the piano sound. Accompanying strings support a classical sound, but are given a pop arrangement that lends the piece a more modern rhythm. Superimposed “ghost” drums, synthesizer sounds and the supernatural spaciousness of echo transport the listener to the present and beyond into a technological future.
