took the audience time-travelling through the “Electric Century” and into the future with a stage show for the 100th anniversary of the International Electrotechnical Commission that shifted dynamically between screen projections, live actors, dancers and musicians. The show was lively and intelligent – and above all electric – reflecting the themes of the IEC event: energy, information, mobility, and life science.

On the big screen, actors in historical costumes were shown entering the concert house at Gendarmenmarkt after which they entered the hall where the audience was gathered and then proceeded to the stage, commencing the journey through time.
The leading roles were ultimately played by the technical innovations from the various epochs, including the discovery of electricity, brought to life by an ensemble of dancers portraying electrons dancing around a neutron and enhanced by video projections.
Famous characters such as Lord Kelvin, Siemens, Edison, Bell and Steinmetz joined in the “Electric Century Revue”, because behind every innovation stands a human being who enables technical progress through his ingenuity and perseverance.
